Hey all,
We starting to clear bosses faster, and at this rate in 1-2 weeks we will be tickling dancing and playing with Mother Sharaz, this is a huge stepping stone and achievement to get to as will drop Tier 6 Shoulders.
However we will fail on Mother Sharaz without the required Shadow Resist gear, this fight is hugely dependant on shadow resist. Avoids Fatal Attraction ability as well and reduces the over damage to the raid.
I urge you all to farm your Shadow Resist gear required, everyone should have there Shadow Resist trinket (quest reward/BT attuenment) and the cloak is the first step/fairly cheap to make.
After that it will be bracers, boots, belt, and legs (legs being most expensive and last priority) please ALL farm the items needed to craft this, HoD will be worked out from the guild bank, however you NEED to farm your own primals.
generally you will require around 10 Life and 10 Shadow.
Liase with your class leader as to allocation and whom will recv priority.

just so were all clear, every single raid member needs capped (365 i think) shadow resist, so every last one of us needs the full set.

the more SR the better, guilds have done it without being capped thou.
But its a goal that need to aim for, need to get Capped eventually....
Alot more easier to farm for all items required! Now than waiting till later and doing piece at a time

365 is the resistance cap.
Taken from wowwiki: 365 is the resistance cap against a lvl 73 mob. At 365, it is considered to be at a ~70% average damage reduction (they will be resisting 75% of the damage 80% of the time.
Remember of corse there are other ways to get to that cap- you dont have to rely on items alone. Priests have some spell that gives shadow resistance (not sure how much though- guess maybe 70??). And there is a flask that gives around 35 resistance to all schools of magic. Im pretty sure that the druid buff mark of the wild does not stack with the SR priest buff.
Which means if you're finding it hard to balance your gear- you'll only need around 260 restance to max out if you take a priest + chug down a resistance flask.

You can skip the legs coz its the most expensive (3 hods). But if, you're lack of HoDs, you can socket in 4 resist all gems(void sphere) to your old t4/t5 loots (eg shoulders and head). You can also use your pvp gears, for last resort.
Try avoiding greens as it will gimp the raid, but if it's for last resort doesnt make a little difference.
You can then make use of the 20 shadow resist enchant on head from lower city quartermaster.
So yep, try to aim 295 shadow resist unbuffed.

we have almost enough HoD's and will start crafting for officers, archangels... guardians and below ranked members will have to wait out a bit longer, till we are actually on mother sharaz, when we go for our first attempt we will craft your gear for you.
Due to high turnover of members we don't want to have all the crafted SR go to waste.
Currently I think we have 3 officers fully equiped with 360 SR, and working down the list.
Please liase with class leaders in order to get gear crafted.

295 unbuffed is where u should be at, the lvl 5 druid buff, and shadow protection buff will get you to acceptable resistance levels for the fight. This means that those with the BT attunement neck, will only need the cloak, back enchant, and 3 peices of armor. If you do not have the neck, then you will need the cloak, enchant, and all 4 pieces. LWs can also make a +8 shadow resist patch that can be appled to head, legs, boots, and gloves. A glyph of shadow warding (+20) can also be purchased from Lower City quartermaster--only have to be honored, and works on a helm. As I do not have the neck (need Al'Ar), I need all 4 armor pieces. Already have the back and enchant  . Primal lifes, shadows, and leather farmed and ready to craft!

You can get the Aldor JC shadow resist neck in replacement for the BT quest neck too.
